Modern roses are varieties of roses bred after 1867 with characteristics that differ from those of the genus Historical roses. Modern roses are usually more often flowering and are divided into the following subclasses:
Hybrid Tea soses, shrub roses, floribunda roses, ground cover roses, climbing roses, ramblers, dwarf roses. Often the English Roses are also listed as a class. However, this is not officially recognized.
